Sound absorption material The sound absorption material is cellular concrete, concrete foamed with additives to produce around 30% air voids. Special light weight aggregates such as vermiculite are also used. 
Soundwalls WITH Sound Absorption Material
The sound wall to the right has sound absorption material installed on the sides of the panels that face the trackway. The sound absorption material doesn't extend all the way to the ground in this instance.

Soundwall WITHOUT Sound Absorption Material
The soundwall under construction to the left is the basic soundwall panels without the sound absorption material. You are viewing the side that faces the trackway.

Soundwalls from the street side view will look the same whether there is sound absorption material or not. Final paint color is the only thing missing on this soundwall
