Bicycle/Pedestrian Path Detours
View the bike path along the West Rail Line
In addition to the West Rail Light Rail Line, comes a new bike/pedestrian path along the corridor, connecting the three counties in which the rail line spans. The project has dedicated a total of 4.26 miles (.38 miles in Jefferson County, 2.20 in Lakewood, and 1.68 in Denver) of bike/pedestrian route, including path adjacent to both the Wadsworth and Kipling bridges. Although the bike/pedestrian path is one of the final plans on the overall project, as of September 2011, it is over 49 percent complete! During the continued construction, a detour (to view, click map above) has been provided to all travelers.
The new and improved path will make traveling by bike much more seamless and
safe. Locations where bicycles/pedestrians are forced to cross the light rail tracks
are minimized along the corridor to the greatest extent possible. In addition, all
West Rail Line stations will feature bicycle parking with racks and/or lockers.
Because bicycles are allowed on all RTD buses and light rail trains, travel out west
will prove to be much easier!

Please Note: Pedestrians are not allowed in the construction zone at any time.
