About the Project

The Northwest Rail Corridor is a 41-mile commuter rail corridor from Denver Union Station to Longmont, passing through North Denver, Adams County, Westminster, Broomfield, Louisville and Boulder. As part of the voter-approved FasTracks program, the Northwest Rail Environmental Evaluation (EE) identified the best way to provide high-quality, reliable transit service to the area while improving travel times and enhancing access to jobs, recreation and entertainment.

The Northwest Rail environmental study process included:

  • A community involvement process

  • An analysis of the environmental impacts of implementing commuter rail

  • Full disclosure of how the project impacts surrounding communities and environmental resources
