The Importance of Public Participation

Since 2004, FasTracks has been largely focused on the environmental and design processes.  Public participation is an important part of FasTracks, especially early in the program when the public has the most opportunity to provide input. The recent completion of several environmental documents is the result of the public's comments. The public can especially help shape their communities early in the process by being engaged. As FasTracks moves from design to construction, it is much more difficult to change course.

Each of the corridor project teams hosts public meetings and provides a number of ways that the public can get involved and give input.  RTD encourages citizens to get engaged in the public process and contribute feedback on how they'd like to see FasTracks integrate into their communities.  While RTD may not be able to meet all stakeholder expectations, our corridor teams always listen and consider public input as one of the factors that contributes to the decision-making process.  Check the corridor project links for specific information on those projects and how you can get involved.
