RTD Names New General Manager - December 2009The Regional Transportation District (RTD)Board of Directors voted unanimously on December 15, 2009 to enter into contract negotiations with Phil Washington to serve as the agency's new General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Washington has been the Interim General Manager since July 2009.
North Metro Corridor Celebrates Milestones - December 2009
RTD recently held a special event in Thornton to celebrate the purchase of $118 million worth of railroad property necessary to complete the commuter rail project. The North Metro Corridor Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is now available for review and comments through Jan. 15, 2010. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) signed Records of Decision (RODs) for the East Corridor and Gold Lines, which combine to make the Eagle P3 Project. The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will be releasing its Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Eagle P3 Project, a public-private partnership, on September 30, 2009. RTD will contract with a team of private partners to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain some of the FasTracks projects. For more information on public-private partnerships, click here.
New Light Rail Vehicles Arrive in Denver - August 2009
The first of 55 new light rail vehicles (LRVs) purchased for the FasTracks light rail fleet has arrived in Denver! The rest of the new LRVs will be arriving approximately every two weeks over an 18-month period. To read the news release click here.

2009 FasTracks Public Survey Results - January 2009
Every year the FasTracks Public Information team completes an opinion survey to gauge public perceptions about the program. This year 83 percent of metro-area residents say that passing the 2004 FasTracks vote was a good idea - up seven percent from 2007.
